‘Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always’ 1 Chronicles 16:11
We pray because when we seek God and his presence; things change and we change. We are called to be a people of prayer – a house of prayer. We have this beautiful gift of being able to bring all our worries, concerns, joys and sorrows to God. We, as his people, can call upon God and invite him to the different situations we and others face around the world.
24-7 prayer have lots of resources to help us pray, so do check out their web guide ‘Help me Pray’.
Thy Kingdom Come - 13th - 23rd May 2021
We are joining with the global prayer movement, Thy Kingdom Come, to pray for God's kingdom to come in Crawley. We are suggesting four ways to get involved:
- Sign up to an hour (or two or three) of prayer. You will be able to make use of the virtual prayer room - see below!
- Prayer walk. Why not walk a neighbourhood of Crawley on your own, with a friend or your pattern group and pray for God's Kingdom to come as you walk? We have put together an audio prayer walk guide, to help us prayer walk the town centre, which is available below.
- Commit to praying for 3 people to come to know Jesus, by setting an alarm for 11:02 each day
- Join us as we gather for a time of prayer and worship, in church, on Saturday 22nd May, 6pm - midnight. Be sure to sign up for a slot, so that we know when to expect you!
Virtual Prayer Room
Click and drag around to look around. Click on things to learn more, or join in and share your prayers, words, scriptures and pictures.
Don't forget to sign up for a slot here.
Although our prayer room is virtual, we would love to be able to pray together and say 'amen' to each others prayers, encourage one another and share what we think God is saying. In order to do this we are using Trello as a space to gather these - please access the board here.
Town Centre Prayer Walk Guide
We have put together an audio prayer walk guide, to lead you in prayer as you walk around the town centre.
11.02 and 3.16
Join us in setting your alarm for 11.02am and 3.16pm as reminders to prayer. We pray for God’s kingdom to come at 11.02 because Luke 11:2 says:
‘He said to them, ‘When you pray, say: ‘“Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.’
Why not choose 3 people that you would like to come to know Christ and pray for them at 11.02 each day.
We pray for God’s love to be known across Crawley at 3.16pm, because John 3:16 says:
‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’
