Alpha starts in September.
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring life, faith and meaning. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes - you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.
The course at St John’s runs for 10 weeks and includes a day away on a Saturday.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for anyone who's curious. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.
How does it work?
This course is run between 10:00 and 11:30. Each session includes a short video and a discussion in a small group where you can share your thoughts over coffee and pastries.
This course is run between 19:00 and 20:45. Each session starts with a meal followed by a short video and a discussion in a small group where you can share your thoughts.

At any point, if you think Alpha isn't for you, that's not a problem. There's no pressure, no follow up and no charge.
Many people say the highlight of Alpha is the day away - this is happening on Saturday 25th June.
How much does it cost?
Alpha is free for everyone.
